Pros

1. There are great opportunities to have responsibilities early in the career. From day 1, you can have exposition to the client, which is very important in a consulting job. Teams are usually small and not very structured. Therefore responsibilities on a given project are not based only on the job title or the experience, but mainly on the actual performance in the project 2. The new management tea is dedicated to turn the company around and they launch many initiatives to empowers the employees such as a training program at the Yale School of Business 3. There is an important knowledge base within the company which helps develop deep knowledge in the practice areas of expertise.

Cons

1. The company is not doing well overall - therefore, there have been many layoffs and there is only a little opportunity to get a raise or a promotion. This year the CEO is saying that the bonus pool is bigger than ever, so we will see how it end up working... 2. Mentoring is not working well, it is not part of the culture of the company. There are great mentors but you need to be lucky to work with them... 3. Compensation is below average for similar job experience. At the same time, hours can add up easily and you may end up working over 70 hours a week in the worst case project

Thank you for your review. You refer to a different company, namely BearingPoint Inc. Our company, BearingPoint headquartered in Europe, has been a separate legal entity and conducted a management buyout in 2009. Its development since then is very positive, see our Annual Report: https://www.bearingpoint.com/files/BearingPoint_Annual_Report_24.pdf

Pros

Good pay, good location, other employees are good to work with.

Cons

This organization is deeply mismanaged. The four U.S. partners are consistently at odds with one another and unable to collaborate, often dragging employees into their conflicts. The lead U.S. partner regularly makes inappropriate, sexist remarks, despite being a father to daughters, creating a hostile environment. Employees are encouraged to report issues to HR, but concerns are routinely dismissed, and no meaningful action is taken. Speaking up only puts a target on your back, several employees who voiced concerns were included in subsequent rounds of layoffs. The global leadership team is fully aware of the ongoing dysfunction, especially at the partner level, yet chooses to ignore it in favor of their own career advancement. This lack of accountability at every level makes for an incredibly toxic and demoralizing workplace.
