      Great Company Culture - Technology Consultant BearingPoint Employee Review

      Pros

      BearingPoint has a very impressive company culture with a very active social scene. Their recruiters are experts at choosing people who are easy to get along with. Good benefits regarding healthcare, pension contributions, corporate phone and laptop, expensed training hours etc. Solid company for a graduate level hire who is looking to get their career started.

      Cons

      Oftentimes moving from one project to another can be nearly impossible. They will claim that they offer horizontal movement to different roles within the company, but this is rarely the case. The same goes for working abroad, they claim to have that program but in reality it is not something they will do for you.

With regards to your feedback on working across different projects, we very much support and encourage project rotation and we are sorry to hear this hasn’t been your experience. May we suggest, as a priority, that you speak with your Service Line Lead (SLL) or a member of the People & Culture (HR) team to explore potential opportunities on other projects/in the company. Regarding working abroad, it is not clear if you are referring to the secondment programme or working abroad as an extension to a holiday? If the former, our secondment programme is currently paused. If you are referring to the policy where you can work abroad for up to 30 days per year, this programme is very active and is utilised by many staff each year. We are happy to discuss both options in more detail with you, and we encourage you to speak with the People & Culture (HR) team about this.       I loved working there when I did.

      Cons

      It had too much debt in the end.

      Pros

      Good pay, good location, other employees are good to work with.

      Cons

      This organization is deeply mismanaged. The four U.S. partners are consistently at odds with one another and unable to collaborate, often dragging employees into their conflicts. The lead U.S. partner regularly makes inappropriate, sexist remarks, despite being a father to daughters, creating a hostile environment. Employees are encouraged to report issues to HR, but concerns are routinely dismissed, and no meaningful action is taken. Speaking up only puts a target on your back, several employees who voiced concerns were included in subsequent rounds of layoffs. The global leadership team is fully aware of the ongoing dysfunction, especially at the partner level, yet chooses to ignore it in favor of their own career advancement. This lack of accountability at every level makes for an incredibly toxic and demoralizing workplace.
