Pros

I like what I do on my job the hours are great good friends at Bluelinx's been employed for fourteen years

Cons

Mitch was at or branch in December we all voiced or concerns he said he would work on fixing the things he could came back last week said same thing we are still waiting since December for the changes he said he would make either his staff isn't being honest with him or he just wasted a lot of time and money on cleaning or center for his visits about 15 grand for both days

I truly appreciate your feedback (even though, I must admit, I would have preferred to have heard it either directly or in one of the three separate open Q&A meetings we had last week!) The facility looked great, so the efforts to clean it up were effective. It is disappointing to hear that the facility is not typically in such good condition, which I will address. Your distribution center’s operational performance has actually improved significantly since December, we’ve invested in new equipment (as requested) and our customers have noticed and commented on the significant improvement in service and quality over the last several months. We discussed numerous opportunities for additional improvement last week and while we have lots of work to do (which is each of our daily responsibility and inherent in our core value of our continuous improvement culture) we definitely have made significant progress. Thanks again for your feedback and please feel free to reach out to me directly by email or give me a call so that we can discuss additional specific opportunities to improve BlueLinx! - Mitch

Pros

Not too many. They do provide logo shirts etc.

Cons

No clear direction. Local leadership is not honest nor transparent. No annual reviews. Feedback is rare and untimely. The 80/20 business model for customer loyalty is shortsighted and surreptitious. Local GM manipulates quarterly/annual goals and gross margins effecting commissions. High turnover with Territory Managers. Conflicting sales goals and programs. Experience is not valued. Executive leadership is focused exclusively on bottom line. The running joke is instead of "Delivering What Matters" they are "Talking About What Matters". Too many generals and not enough sergeants. Some General Managers profess to be "Servant Leaders" however they are disingenuous. I wouldn't recommend working here unless you really need the job, and then, don't plan on a long and rewarding career.
