Pros

30 minute and 20 minute break on a 12hr shift. 45 minute break depending on the shift. Paid lunch/breaks. Snacks and beverages in break room. Flexible schedule. Uniform allowance but yearly. Should be biyearly since the material is cheap. Comes apart at the seam after the first few wears. Bonus was nice.

Cons

“Academy” to then be able to work onsite. Now they are enforcing patients must pay their copayments in order to be seen. Patients are not happy about that. Doesn’t accept Medicaid. The frequent flyer patients! If they were educated that primary care should be the first choice for them to avoid health issues, we would not be seeing the same patients weekly/monthly! Pay should be way better for the amount of nonsense PSRs and Scribes/Medical Assistants deal with especially coming from a private company that makes so much!

Pros

Hands-on experience with EMR systems and patient documentation. Strong patient-facing experience with diverse cases and populations. Exposure to working with multiple providers and medical specialties. Fast-paced environment that builds adaptability and multitasking skills.

Cons

Pay may feel lower compared to the intensity and volume of work- but unfortunately is typical for premed/prehealth professionals.
