Were they critical to the workings of the software? Were they the only person in IT who knew how the camera systems worked? Who cares? Not HR. They fired one guy who was under contract not to be fired due to a buy out, got sued, and lost just because they couldn't bother to pay attention to who they were canning. You mean nothing to that place, even if you make them money. So, if you're looking for a job there... Maybe go for HR? I noticed they never seemed to get let go.
