Cliques. No training. GM's and upper management let the tenured cliques and lower management get in their ear and run/judge accordingly. TOXIC environment. Everything is cutthroat. Any mistake and you will be thrown under the bus to protect someone's image and make them look good and you like an idiot. Yes, this may be my own awful personal experience, but I am being pushed out after only 10.5 months of being thrown into a disaster to fix with no training or support. Ancient computer software that is non-intuitive. This makes it difficult to change and keep track of things with projects. I had such high hopes in furthering my career in management and this was a speed bump in the way. Not a speed bump, rather, a head on collision. Suck up to the right people quick. Make the right friends quick. Learn the system quick. Then focus on managing. The lack of support positioned me to be in the office to take care of most of the clerical work 90% of the time. 55+ hours a week. Was told by my general manager/vp, "I don't give a (expletive) how busy you are." I'm experienced in supervisory/management roles, and I was made to feel like a moron that was way out of his league. I managed 40+ teamsters and supervisors before this.... Not like that's the end all be all, but just a glimpse of how little they make you feel. I am the second consecutive manager being "pushed out" of this position. Tell you anything? This is a door company, not Wall Street.
