Pros

Smart, kind employees who joined the company because they believe in the mission and are willing to do the hard work to get there.

Cons

People operate on fear and the culture is one where failure, rather than success is expected. It's a really hard environment to feel confident and valuable in. Lots of decisions are made without any thought towards the consequences and effects on employees. It's a penny wise and pound foolish organization where pride, ego, and emotion drive decision making.

Pros

I joined the company as a Backend Software Engineer. Overall, I'd say the company had several strengths. The initial offer was competitive, and the role provided a strong foundation for developing my interpersonal skills. Working professionally means regularly collaborating with a wide range of personalities and navigating competing deadlines. Learned how to work well with others, regulate emotions and developed emotional distance between me and my work (matured as a professional a lot). I found that as long as deliverables were met, the work environment remained stable.

Cons

There was considerable turnover on the engineering team, which I understood to be related in part to concerns about the tech stack and the company's overall direction.
