Pros

Earnin is somewhere you can make a difference in the world. Making a difference in the world isn't always easy. * Commitment to the mission of building a better financial system that is people first. * Tons of smart minds and problem solvers to collaborate and share ideas with * Responsive and Empathetic leadership * Making strides to be as cutting edge as we can be

Cons

* Covid sucked - when the economy gets hit that hard and companies move to tighten their belts, it's no fun losing people and projects. Plain and simple. * some legacy systems - with any startup that's grown 10x in a few years, you'll have a codebase that was once one person's become owned by multiple teams. If there's opportunity to improve things, take advantage of that!

Pros

I joined the company as a Backend Software Engineer. Overall, I'd say the company had several strengths. The initial offer was competitive, and the role provided a strong foundation for developing my interpersonal skills. Working professionally means regularly collaborating with a wide range of personalities and navigating competing deadlines. Learned how to work well with others, regulate emotions and developed emotional distance between me and my work (matured as a professional a lot). I found that as long as deliverables were met, the work environment remained stable.

Cons

There was considerable turnover on the engineering team, which I understood to be related in part to concerns about the tech stack and the company's overall direction.
