Pros
Great people, supportive management, great opportunities to work with a wide range of data and develop vast amount of business, consumer and product knowledge. Great opportunities for learning soft skills via a range of training courses and media, and by different channels. Broad exposure to a variety of industries and sectors. Knowledgeable and motivated team members. Interesting, challenging and innovative work. Good food options and pleasant offices/canteen
Cons
Annual redundancy and overly restrictive bureaucracy hampers the best intentions of local management to look after their teams best interests. Divisional heads seem distant from their teams at the front line, and unwilling to prioritise time to hear their ideas. Too much focus on short term gains rather than long term vision, strategy and capability. Project management structures when applied heavy handedly can be off-putting to innovators
