Pros

In my opinion Exxon Mobil deserves this advanced position in all economical reviews (Forbes, CNN Money, Economist...etc). Being the highest net profit after taxes in all industries all over the world for years is not an easy achievement. It's the perfect place to learn and acquire as much knowledge as you could acquire. It has a very powerful system and very efficient guidelines and procedures. Environment in Exxon Mobil is friendly. And most of managers and peers are disciplined and well educated. In Exxon Mobil, the managers empower the employees once they trust them. The management respects the employees and trusts them. Moreover, working in Exxon Mobil provides the employee with kind of prestige and social status. And Finally, Exxon Mobil has the best in class pension plan.

Cons

Exxon Mobil is process oriented rather than people oriented. Compensation is good but not competitive. Training programs are relatively weak. Recognition and Awarding needs to be improved

Pros

Great all around compensation - from salary, benefits (401k & pension & flexible work], medical [fantastic] Great people - at the company you understand everyone around is came from being one of the smartest people at their previous job/university. Within IT the overwhelming majority of people really care for you, this feels way more collaborative than competitive. Career Development - lots of opportunities to grow in breadth of experience to get deep in your skills and grow in leadership skills

Cons

Work Politics - being such a large corporation with a lot of history there is a tendency to be work politics/red tape sheerly because of the size of the company. However, it is not really bad if you are willing network , put yourself out there to talk with leaders, and be a normal hard-working enjoyable employee. If you do these two things you will succeed at ExxonMobil.
