Pros

Good training, decent pay, good travel benefits, good time off, rigs all over the world. The benefits are also great in terms of insurance, 401k match, and pension.

Cons

Very political system; your job promotion depends more on brown nosing to your boss than reaching TD. Also, it takes an act of God to vary from the drilling program. The only way to get anything done is to keep it quiet. There are WAY too many rules. The US military works because they empower their sergeants. Exxon pretends to be the military, but they just managed to get the bureaucracy part.

Pros

Great people and culture - Everyone is nice and wants to do good work.

Cons

Lots of security and locked down tech and hard to find what's available.

Pros

Good pay and a pension

Cons

Everything else. Benefits are lackluster, Flex Your Day policies are elusive. The company changes everything all the time so that a large portion of your time is spent finding new links to things on the portal, figuring out who to contact in various departments and in what country just to get a simple answer to a question. No one stays in the same role long enough to get good at their job. Morale is terrible.
