Pros

Some of the managers and employees I've worked with are great, and the pay isn't awful for the location.

Cons

Upper management bullies their managers and employees, berating them in front of customer and coworkers, treats their CSRs like 2nd class citizens, and basically do as they please. They'll work you to death, add THEIR work on top of it, then get mad when it's not done how they would do it. They offer bonuses and vacation days, but out right refuse to give them to you or set up new stipulations to prevent you from getting them as well. That's just the surface of it too. First time I've ever been written up and screamed at because we sold out of something and had to wait on our truck to deliver more. I ended up quitting after one of our employees got fired for telling corporate about a DM that never showed up and did their job, only for her to get caught and them ask why we never said anything. I quit when they demanded I write up a good employee for not coming into work because they we're in the hospital. Lazy and irresponsible people in charge.

Pros

Great all around compensation - from salary, benefits (401k & pension & flexible work], medical [fantastic] Great people - at the company you understand everyone around is came from being one of the smartest people at their previous job/university. Within IT the overwhelming majority of people really care for you, this feels way more collaborative than competitive. Career Development - lots of opportunities to grow in breadth of experience to get deep in your skills and grow in leadership skills

Cons

Work Politics - being such a large corporation with a lot of history there is a tendency to be work politics/red tape sheerly because of the size of the company. However, it is not really bad if you are willing network , put yourself out there to talk with leaders, and be a normal hard-working enjoyable employee. If you do these two things you will succeed at ExxonMobil.
