Pros

The company offers a lot of promises for promotion They seem to be growing well. Hitting most of the numbers they set. Overall the industry is boring in itself but if you have solid peoples skills most customer are fun to talk with. The people I worked with where pretty fun but I was just rubbed wrong way by the whole business.

Cons

he problem with Fastenal is they're just a really boring business to work for. Independence is seems to be frowned upon. They expect you to be there for 50hrs a week when it would only take 40 to accomplish what they've asked. Clients are really just blue collar maintenance men. Everybody's so scared of corporate coming down on them, nobody wants to rock the boat. The thought they are a "debt free" company. That's because employees are compensated with very low wages with the promise of eventually being given the salary.

Pros

I like my coworkers and my GM is a good .

Cons

The business model and lean staffing is simply unsustainable. Entry level pay, part time, little training, no commissions. Fastenal is focused on the sale rather than the customer. The wing it mentatility leaves customer service lacking. It's a roll coaster of putting one fire out after the other. They sale the position during the interview process but after your in there's empty promises with no real timelines for when the advancement is coming. Upper management seems out of touch with the day to day business. If you ask for help they simply say you have a good schedule. It's extremely disappointing that it has turned out this way because I was excited about the prospect of becoming an Account manager.
