Pros

Excellent compensation. Generally there are solid practices in place to ensure the work is done properly. Ample experienced employees to guide the less experienced staff. The people who have longevity with FE are the best group to work with, hands down.

Cons

Experience and wisdom is not valued. The young and "high potential" employees tend to get paid equally or more than those who have 10+ years in the job and at higher levels, doing more complex work. If you haven't been identified as a high potential by the time you are 40, be prepared to be ostracized as "not the right fit for current team dynamics" and passed over in lieu of less experienced, but conformist (i.e. young and impressionable who will never step up and give their honest, but respectful opinion or advice) type of employees. The influence of the high-pos are turning the company into "The Emperor's New Clothes".

Pros

FirstEnergy is a big company with a lot of growth that I've seen firsthand. Employees are helpful and all have the shared goals of keeping reliability of the electric grid. The pay is decent and stays competitive with the market rates as they do reviews consistently and evaluate. Its a great company that is trying to do better after misguided leads hip in the past

Cons

Some executive leadership vision is not shared with lower level employees. The recent transition from WFH back to the office has left employees such as myself wondering why its not role based WFH.

Not much anymore - was once a solid company
