Pros

Discount on shoes. Can’t think of other pros

Cons

Management is a boys club and is set in their ways from 30 years ago. Low pay, below-average benefits, siloed teams, incompetent HR, minimum 9-10 hour days at an office job. Unnecessary fire drills and weekend work for projects that didn’t require it. Leadership is very hierarchical which can inhibit collaboration: a person’s title matters more than their idea. Leadership seems unable to determine priorities, and a lot of work feels like a wild-goose chase that is then undone weeks or months later when management inevitably pivots in a different direction. The data and tech landscapes anre also a mess and impossible to work with. They have been talking about cleaning it up for years, but TBD if this will ever happen. This is easily the most disorganized company I have ever worked at. My coworkers and I, all hired around the same time, had an agreement that we would all quit within a year.

Foot Locker Response

I’m really sorry that your time here felt discouraging. What you described isn’t the kind of experience we want for anyone. It’s clear that you care about the work, and it’s frustrating when that effort doesn’t feel supported. Your feedback about communication, leadership structure, and direction is important and will absolutely be shared with the appropriate teams. I truly appreciate how detailed and honest you were, it helps us understand where we can do better. Wishing you the best in your next chapter!

Pros

Working here puts you right at the center of sneaker, fashion, and youth culture. You get exposure to massive global vendor partnerships (Nike, Jordan, Adidas, Puma) and high-scale enterprise operations that look great on a resume. Solid corporate benefits package including a competitive 401(k) match, health/wellness accounts, and performance-based bonuses or RSUs at leadership levels. Excellent product perks, including an employee discount across all banners (Foot Locker, Champs, Kids Foot Locker). The corporate dress code is casual and sneaker-friendly. Internal Mobility: Because of the massive global corporate footprint, there are clear paths to transition across different departments (Marketing, Supply Chain, Tech, Finance, Merchandising) along with tuition reimbursement opportunities.

Cons

In efforts to streamline costs, optimize the store fleet, and fund digital growth, the company has historically undergone structural realignments, corporate relocations, or localized layoffs, which can impact team morale and workload distribution.
