As a GRA, it is really an advisor-dependent experience, but overall institutional rules and guidelines suck.. - Anonymous employee Georgia Tech Employee Review

Pros

prestigious university with really good career opportunitites after graduation. Top 5 Research institution in most engineering disciplines.

Cons

GRA stipends are small, and they make you pay insurance and student fees. working conditions are sometimes horrible, but that fluctuates a lot.

Pros

- Free Housing - Meal Plan - One of the better on campus job for students in my opinion (still able to be involved in other activities as a student on campus)

Cons

- Duty part of the job (Being on call and getting late night lock outs but this is rare), and definitely can still do homework in between doing duty rounds - experience can also depend on your hall director / area (but regardless still served on great RA teams, can be great if you have a co-ra but also been good at time being a single RA on the floor (no need to coordinate schedule if you do events together as a single RA unless you alternate events with your co)
