Pros
- There are some good & bright employees there, but most are already planning their future departure - Compensation is comparable to market if you are in demand in the valley. If you are not an in demand technical employee, they pay at very low ranges. - The kitchens have standard (and not organic) snacks and drinks for free but most are unhealthy - Telling people on the outside that you work at GoPro always impresses them since they only see the shiny outside - Employees receive a free camera and accessories at their new hire orientation
Cons
- This company does not value or treat their employees well. They throw in a happy hour once in a while but the company did not give their employees anything for Christmas. No t-shirt. No pencil. No coffee mug. But the CEO did make some nice purchases for himself lately. Yacht, jet? You can make your own judgment based on that. - Micromanagement issues throughout company. If you like being treated like a child or a time stamp employee, you could make it work. No working from home allowed. Clock watchers everywhere. - Company is struggling with future direction and trying to rebrand themselves as a media company - Whether it is the new GoPro channels on XBOX or Virgin Airlines, or improvements to their camera and video editing software, other companies already did it or are doing it better - Common feelings from bottom of the rank up to Director level are that several people at the top enjoy great financial gains and perks while everyone else is working long thankless hours to support those several people - The environment is so negative that I decided to leave and join a different start up company
