Pros

The people, individually, are not horrendous.

Cons

The associate turn over is hilarious. If you are thinking of joining one of the offices, try to call one of the associates and ask them if they will candidly discuss the office with you. NY/NJ offices seem better than others. No support staff. They make you do endless admin stuff (i.e., attorney must send any invoice over $500 to the client, following up on invoices). The people, individually, have been lovely, but the way it is run is a joke. Zero work-life balance. They don't care about anything except billables.

Pros

Respected firm, objective bonus is nice on top of discretionary bonuses.

Cons

Lots of bureaucracy and the help that's promised is rarely actually available.

Pros

The Minneapolis office is a growing office with great opportunities for associates to get hands on involvement with depositions, motion practice and trials. I found my supervising partner to be a great mentor and person. She cared about me as a person and lawyer. I loved my time at Gordon Rees, but left for increased compensation.

Cons

Less than market pay. Senior associate laterals who were cliquey and sophomoric.
