I have been working at Gordon & Rees full-time
Good foundation for young attorneys
Pay is not comparable to large firms
I applied through a recruiter. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at Gordon & Rees (San Francisco, CA) in September 2017.
This was for a temp-to-hire (temp-to-fire as I like to call it as companies use people with little experience and drop them like hot potatoes because they never intended to hire in the first place) role. Easy, half-hour interview. I was concerned that the interview was only half an hour, and I thought they were not interested because I didn't have enough experience. It turns out that the conflicts check took longer than I expected, and they just don't care about staff, i.e. staff is expendable. They did not interview properly to get the person they were looking for; they interviewed to get another victim. When I was selected, I thought they were willing to work with someone of my experience level (the person I replaced had at least 6 years of experience whereas I have only 1 year), and they were not. I was offered less pay than my previous position. They wanted someone with extensive Relativity experience yet this was not discussed at the interview. I mentioned casually that I had used Relativity for document review before but that I never received any training on it.
