Pros

The benefits are decent, medical and dental are reasonable. Pay is not too bad either. Vacation is also pretty fair.

Cons

How much time do you have? This was the most toxic place I have ever worked and I am in my 50's. I worked there 1.5 years. The management is by far the worst I have seen in a very long time. That is where the toxic behavior starts. The CSM does not know how to speak with people. She basically throws her words at you and you are just supposed to deal with it and do what she says. They harass some employees for doing certain things while turning their head an allowing others to do the same things. Which of course breeds resentment within the office. They allow employees to snitch on one another and base their reviews on that information. They allow bullying as well, even when it is reported they do nothing about it. They preach team environment, but it is the farthest thing from it... The company as a whole also always gives lip service on life work balance and that is not at all the case. The CSM doesnt allow people to WFH when needed and some people have WFH days already in place and they are not allowed to change them for any reason. She is very rigid and has a my way or highway attitude with the employees. This company leaves a lot to be desired. At least this location. When people give notice she makes them leave and does not let them finish their 2 weeks out. If they make an offer move on to the next one... You wont be missing out, I promise.... Also not a very diverse company if that is what you are looking for.

Pros

Employee owned so profits are shared with both employees AND employee stock holders

Cons

Graybar is trying to keep pace with the digital transformation of our industry, But, most senior leaders lack the experience needed to execute true digital change. As a result, the company has made several costly missteps. Graybar needs more outside senior talent with a proven track record of building and deploying customer‑facing digital solutions that both simplify the customer experience and reduce Graybar internal labor. Our current AI initiatives are unlikely to deliver meaningful results because our data is too inconsistent to support AI and other inititives. Without significant changes soon, Graybar’s long‑term outlook risks mirroring companies like Blockbuster, Borders Bookstores, Sears, and JCPenney—businesses that failed to adapt when customers shifted to online purchasing instead of relying solely on brick‑and‑mortar service or phone/fax to place orders.
