In my work at Navteq in the IT department people in general are pretty good, but it has larger company issues - QA Analyst II HERE Technologies Employee Review

Pros

somewhat flexible work schedule for full timers. not so much for contractors. they let you work with open source free stuff, but those aren't necessarily the best tools. they don't micromanage you. great location. nice gym. they are trying to innovate and recreate themselves.

Cons

they don't really know how to manage projects. some of the managers are decent, but others are just there for the paycheck. people speak numerous different languages at work. there have been spirited debates among the project, with high turnover for some positions. the problem with navteq is for an average IT hack, you have to rely on other people who don't report to your manager and aren't under your management to get work done and figure stuff out, otherwise things get delayed.

Pros

Leadership is very understanding and are clear SME’s that know what their doing. There’s a learning curve that’s complex, but compensation and experience is worth the training.

Cons

Internal operations could be better, but that’s expected with any growing company.

Pros

Friendly and supportive team, great work-life balance, and a positive work environment. People are easy to work with and collaboration is smooth across teams.

Cons

There are no major downsides from my experience. Some processes could be improved for efficiency, but overall it’s a solid place to work.
