Pros

Good environment. Fun to meet new people every day and have the chance to get to know recurring business travelers. The training you receive for Hilton's software makes you a good candidate for any Hilton hotel in the world.

Cons

Dealing with flack from upset guests can be very stressful, especially during 3-11 shift when the manager had gone for the day. I am at a smaller Hampton so that may not be relevant to all hotels. There are zero benefits besides the discounted rate for hotel rooms. Time off requests usually approved but none are paid. Two holidays per year are paid time and a half: Christmas day and Easter. No maternity pay. The owner's did not give me bereavement pay when a family member died and I had to leave town for the funeral. One paid day was owed to me.

Pros

Consistent hours, employee discount for hotel stays was a big bonus, owners and management was generally always on-call to assist with any problems.

Cons

Management was unable to resolve conflicts between staff, members of management caused a significant amount if drama and often created a hostile work environment.
