Great but not for me - Housekeeper Hampton Inn by Hilton Employee Review

Pros

One hour break broken up into two 15 min breaks and one 30 min break. Snacks for sale at work haha. Once in a while you'll get a 1 or 2 dollar tip, sometimes even more, but not often. Benefits and discounts on certain hotels.

Cons

It was hard for me to have the correct uniform and they did not give me one of the new shirts. It is labor, so if you can't push heavy carts or deal with strain on back then jobs not for you. You get a list of rooms to clean, its really not easy to get them all done fast enough sometimes based on if people are still in their room, or have it dirtier than others, it really slows you down, so you don't know when you will be off work, its based off when your done with your list of rooms.

Pros

•It was a paycheck •A lot of alone time •A few nice coworkers

Cons

• High costs to have health insurance despite low pay. • A lot of immaturity, toxicity, and backstabbing amongst management and coworkers. • Favoritism; some get promoted despite grossly not satisfying metrics but because their mother is friends with the manager they are promoted. • Immature young lead housekeepers who have no social skills and are poor trainers. • They make you memorize the mission statement and punish you if you don't.
