Pros

At HarperCollins you have the chance to work on some of the best and biggest commercial books in the business. Workload is heavy but projects are dynamic and exciting. If you put in good work and communicate steadily with your boss they do promote their people and respect them. There is also a lively work culture with amazing bright minds and readers at this company. This is a rigorous job but out of all the places I’ve worked this is a fun company and I made really good friends!

Cons

Senior VP bosses are not equipped with technology at all and rely a lot on junior employees to keep the trains moving. You turnover can also mean that you are doing more than one person’s job at a time until you get to the publicist or full time editor level. This can make it tough to have autonomy over your work schedule
