Pros

The people in the development teams are great and a pleasure to work with. Lots of freedom in you choose to get your work done including taking time off and telecommuting, given that those privileges are not abused. Team members all have the same problems, so there's always an ear available to vent with, and also to offer when in need. Main offices are all within 5 km of each other. The logo is blue. You can work here while looking for a better job. Raises are easy; you quit and find better work with another employer, then come back and have them meet your new standards.

Cons

Raises do not meet inflation. You can only choose 3 days of vacation. The rest are "suggested" to be taken off, because it's illegal for them to mandate that you take them off. Wage is below International/national/regional/local averages for the same profession. No wonder why we keep losing people with specialized knowledge in critical systems. Volunteering to go to site when no other team members offer doesn't mean anything and you could still find yourself unemployed soon thereafter. Issues inadequate hardware for software development when others that only run office get high performance machines. High level decisions are made by cutting the head off of a chicken and throwing the flailing carcass into a pit lined with a jump to conclusions mat. Where the body finally comes to a rest is the decision will be ultimately carried out. Donning monk robes, the associates meet biannually to dance around a figure made of sticks that is set on fire while chanting the words "glorious harvest". They then choose who they will indoctrinate to their group and offer shares in the company. A goat is slaughtered and their new members have the blood smeared on their forehead as they are no longer disposable slaves to the organization.

Pros

Exceptional project exposure across major U.S. transit, infrastructure, and energy pursuits — the portfolio and client roster are genuinely impressive and great for your professional brand The LTK Engineering Services acquisition brought in a strong, collaborative office culture that is noticeably more grounded and people-focused than the broader Hatch Ltd (Canadian entity) culture Strong brand recognition in the A/E/C space that opens doors with major public agencies

Cons

Hired under the Client Action Team structure, which led to significant instability — multiple management changes in a short period with little transparency or consistency Overlapping time zones and regional boundaries create constant coordination friction; the flat hierarchy sounds good on paper but breaks down quickly when accountability is unclear and no one owns decisions Zero flexibility on in-office requirements — no hybrid accommodation even when the nature of the work doesn't require it Promotions are not merit-based. Advancement appears tied to visibility metrics like road safety observations and office attendance rather than the quality or impact of your work — deeply frustrating for high performers
