Pros

Stable government like jobs. Nobody asks you for results or KPIs (cause they don't matter for the mid-level management)

Cons

I will quote exact lines from my annual performance: Me: "Now that I have a strong rating consistently from last 2 years; what is my career path? What should I be working on to grow in this organization" Line Manager: " Who told all these fancy words about "career growth", "career planning", "career path"? Where did you hear all these things? Did I ever mention these to you? There is nothing like a career path in Henkel." They went on to mock me and brag how both of them (line manager and her manager) never worked for their current positions and how this is the way in the organization. This pretty much sums up how one should be expecting growth in here. If you are a person who is well versed in your field and believe in bringing in the maximum value on the table; this might not be the best place for you. Tip- Negotiate hard on your salary during interviews.

Good benefits. Clear communication from upper management flow-down. Good working environment.

Fast pace environment. Work-life balance concern during peak seasons

Pros

The job is not too difficult. You mainly work on your own, Pay and benefits are outstanding.

Cons

12 hour shifts. Only one tech per shift so vacations can be a bit dicey. Support from peers is low and there is a lot of back biting in the lab. Sometimes they seem to be lookng for a scapegoat.
