Pros

Staff are caring and enjoy the jobs they have. Multiple awards for employees. Active DEI groups. Promote healthy living. If employees participate in a specific number and type of Healthy Activities, their health insurance premiums will be reduced.

Cons

Can be hard to move up if you are in one of the community hospitals. Even though the hospital is a health care provider, the insurance benefits are not very good. Employee portion of medical expenses can be very high. The salaries for non-medical staff are not as high as area hospitals. There is more emphasis placed on meeting campus goals to receive incentive bonuses than paying higher salaries.

Pros

Houston Methodist as an entity is very good to work for. Average benefits, good bonus

Cons

There is no growth whatsoever especially in my department. It all depends on how close you are to your manager, not performance. Regional politics
