Pros

I had a private office.

Cons

This place was a toxic nightmare. Even literally, with all the pollution. I started when it was Ashland and when Ineos took over I wished it was Ashland again. When I was hired, the position was a mess. I mostly had to figure it out on my own. It was two full time jobs crammed into one stuck in 20th century business practices with stacks of paperwork everywhere. I streamlined it, changed some procedures and went digital. I was on my own with no one in the office aware of what I did all day and someone in the head office only marginally aware. However, when Ineos took over they pulled the rug out from under most of my efficiencies and added tons of red tape, thereby quadrupling my workload. At the same time, they outsourced some of the accounting work and not only was there a language barrier but they were not doing things the way we did them so that added to the stress and workload. During all of this I had to cope with a toxic work environment, bullying and favoritism. This included malicious rumors spread some of which I consider sexual harrassment.. There was no HR on site and what HR they had in the head office was no help. I was on my own with my huge workload and daily harassment. Some examples are walking by outside the window of my office videoing me, things stolen from my desk and peeking through the crack in the hinges of my door. When I sustained an injury and was unable to walk for a few weeks and in intense pain I was only made fun of. The company policy during the pandemic was that those who could work from home were supposed to and I did work from home for 3 months, glued to my computer everyday keeping up with all my work 100% but then people who didn't understand an audit called me in accusing me of I'm not sure what because there were accounting entries they didn't understand. Their mistake, which I pointed out to them. But I had to go to the office after that despite company policy and my age and underlying health conditions putting me at risk. Same people also gave me terrible reviews so despite my hard work, I got low raises not that I was being paid much. Due to my worsening health and the office environment I retired. I should have been able to get the disability I paid for years but I would have had to go through these same people and didn't have the health to put up with them anymore.
