Pros

Benefits are good and time off is generous. The mid-level leadership and teams are hard working and dedicated. It is a good place to start a career and make connections in manufacturing where you can later move on to a more stable environment.

Cons

Intertek is quickly falling behind competitors in talent and resource development. The same ideas are recycled every 2-3 years, short sighted budgeting, and unethical non-payment practices are the reason why managers get burnt out and vendors cut ties with the company; the power has even been shut off in the lab by the utility companies when customers are present for testing (no kidding). Andre' and the executive team enforce finance policies as if they are Private Equity group that is looking to maximize profits in the short term, with a scorched-earth mindset regarding future growth; a good indicator that Andre' and others likely have personal exit strategies in the next 6-12 months. You can get some good experience at Intertek, but you need to take charge of your own development. Don't expect much from the managers who are usually balancing responsibilities typically held by 3-4 people due to cutbacks and a "new" structure that comes out every January.
