Pros

The Engineers and Lab employees were great for the most part, as well as the extended office staff. The hours were good, 7:30-4.

Cons

The company is an ok company, but the front office OM and Office Admin lead a toxic work environment that no one has a chance at fitting into. The OM walks around as if they own the place, and the employees must bow down to them. The Office Administrator is so far up the OM's butt, and the need for power bleeds over onto the OA. Many of the other employees are miserable working with them. The position of Project Coordinator in the front office is really nothing more than a glorified "receptionist". Do not let them tell you otherwise. The OA is passive aggressive and has a foul attitude. The training, which is done by the OA, is minimal and barely worth speaking of. They do not know the job themself, because the person that left that did the job left because of them. There is no flexibility on lunch times, even if you need to go to an appointment. The work culture is one of "money is all that matters", regardless of how miserable the staff is. No one even has interest in being with them at the company wide events they try and plan. All the while, it does not matter how little competent training there is, if you make a mistake, the OA is going to treat you like an incompetent child, instead of working with you. Advice, stay away from Project Coordinator position, you will not get any help, and yet be thrown under the bus for not doing the job. A person in this position cannot do the work effectively either because of the loud and ongoing conversations between the OM and the OA. Or they just stand around with others at the reception desk talking with no regard that you are trying concentrate on doing the work. The toxic culture makes a person unable to do their job. All that matters is the money. Bottom line, regardless of the mental state of anyone in the company.

Pros

Good group of people in local office.

Cons

Stuck in the past. Unwilling to consider updating methods or procedures. "We've done it this way for 30 years and it has worked." Sales relies upon project engineers to do most of their work for them. When volume of work is slow that becomes the engineers responsibility to go find new clients. Can't reliably pay the most basic of utility bills on time. I've seen the power cut off 2x and the gas this past winter.
