      Toxic place to work, Too many cooks in the kitchen, no clear direction - Group Design Manager Intuit Employee Review

      Pros

      Pay, Benefits, Campus Cafeteria with subsidized food, company hosts a lot of parties and gives a lot of free food and gifts.

      Cons

      Incompetent and unqualified leadership across organizations. Incredibly toxic shark tank with game of thrones type of politics made to target high performers. Useless and excessive monthly performance reviews and employee stack ranking. Long hours and working over weekend being a norm as an expectation and if you aren't doing it you are seen as not doing your job. Seems like much of leadership are sociopaths or narcissists. Too many cooks in the kitchen, you have far too many design organizations and designers, product managers and the lowest quality pool of entry-level engineers. Managers purposely do not hire top talent so they can protect their jobs and sit on their jobs for a long time. Beware the people who have been there longer than 3 years, they have thrown many people under the bus to survive. All the good folks left 10 years ago and whatever remained has crawled into power and is terrorizing the incoming people.

      Great engineering culture, supportive team, strong mentorship, and meaningful intern projects with real product impact.

      Large company processes can sometimes make onboarding and finding the right information slower at first.

      Pros

      I really enjoyed working with Intuit because it was a fast paced environment that pushed me to grow professionally. I appreciated the strong focus on customer experience, the support from leadership, and the opportunity I had to advance into a Tier 2 role within the same season. It strengthened my communication, problem solving, and multitasking skills while allowing me to help customers during stressful situation

      Cons

      One challenge for me was feeling somewhat disconnected from upper management and operations leadership at times. Most of my direct support and communication came from my team leads, who were very hands on and helpful. I tend to work best in environments where there is strong visibility and engagement from leadership across all levels.
