Just like big-corporations or banking, you don't get to choose the platform, architecture, or even the tools for the job. Sticking with Microsoft means you only get 2nd grade engineers, unless they are Microsoft-married engineers themselves, which is fine but you lack choices, and the creative technology community prefers open source any day over Microsoft for agility and self-reliance. Also in the spirit of being a start-up, try not to have so many meetings - that kills the startup scrappy energetic vibe pretty quickly. Don't go from hip/cool to big-co/unimaginative in a split second please.
