Pros

Generous PTO and convenient parking in Montvale.

Cons

The Strategic Sourcing & Procurement department management is a toxic mix of liars, backstabbers and climbers. It is run by a clueless individual who spends most of his time in California while the majority of his team is in New Jersey. Who calls a 2 hour all hands meeting to tell the team your life story? Very important stuff. Then there is his red headed step child Director who is emotionally challenged and farms out his dirty work to his lackeys. He will lie to you, drain you of your knowledge, have you believe you are moving up the ladder only to send you packing. Be a man, be professional, and look people in the eye when you destroy lives. The department is being outsourced little by little so do not waste your time unless you want to be strung along only to be discarded.

Pros

A lot of smart people to learn from

Cons

A lot of people leave. Utilization is also a dumb metric now with how much money they are dumping into their AI. Work is getting done quicker, hence less hours are being charged even when busy. Margins are consistently up despite hours being down so I don't get the need for higher utilzation KPI's anymore. On top of that, managers make you "eat" your chargeable hours to stay within their very small budgets now too, so utilzation does not really reflect anything meaningful anymore. Commercial consultants work 1.5-2x more than federal consultants but federal consultants are usually 100% utilzed because they must use the full budget despite the work not taking as long/as stressful of deadlines.
