Looks bright and pretty on the outside but infrastructure is weak and trainers are selling machines. - Fitness Trainer Life Time Employee Review

Pros

Get to work with the kansas city suburbia clientele many of which are well to do CEO's,business owners, retired millionaires. Medical benefits are good and compensation for on-the-job injuries are excellent. The most modern and best equipped gym in Kansas City touting vast array of ellipticals, cross trainers, functional equipment, pools, racquetball, rock wall climbing, basketball gyms, cycle studio, fitness studios(2), Pilates/Yoga studios(2).

Cons

100% commission and as such spent countless hours giving potential clients tours/free training sessions/free advice. All hail & kudos go to the sales people who get all the praise and promotions. An excellent trainer with modest salesmanship is overlooked and shunned until he can make the sales quotas. Wind up working long hours just to make ends meet. Obligated to train here because all the clients from surrounding gyms have all shuttled here to the new gym. Sell Heart Rate monitors and metabolic testing with very little compensation. There needs to be more repair techs to fix broken equipment and/or replacement. There is a budget to replace equipment/materials but Supervisor has tight reins to hold back spending.

Pros

Free Membership Cool employees Discounts on services

Cons

They don’t pay anything, and the CEO should honestly be ashamed. If employees were paid properly, there wouldn’t be so much drama and tension in the workplace. Communication is terrible because management doesn’t even seem to care — probably because they’re getting crumbs too. Spa management was dreadful, and the demotion was necessary. How do you fail to have people booked during major holidays when the money and clientele are clearly there? There was no structure, no leadership, and no motivation for employees to succeed. Having a successful spa for 3 years and coming into this environment I was not impressed. No growth, no support, no appreciation. Loved the members tho! And S/O to Leemar, Virgil and Dr. Hayden love them down!
