Impressive Company - Swim Instructor Life Time Employee Review

Pros

- This company does not use traditional advertising, which makes their success pretty impressive. - I worked in the aquatics department as both a Swim Instructor and Slide Attendant (the only other aquatics job you could do without a lifeguard certification) and was treated extremely fairly. - Comes with a free gym membership; This is obviously more of a perk than other more basic gyms

Cons

- Sometimes the managers can be a bit out of the loop or unorganized, which is not something that can easily be dealt with in the aquatics departments. - Swim Instructors are expected to follow a specific kind of teaching which was clearly written by someone with very little experience teaching swimming. Instructors should be allowed to teach HOWEVER they see fit, so long as their methods are safe.

Pros

Great healthy way of life promoted to employees as part of goals and balance of work with life. Flexible time off with mixture of paid time off.

Cons

Does not recognize federal holidays - not a bank - so use personal celebration days to take time off when requested.

Pros

Members are great and free membership is a perk. Coworkers are supportive.

Cons

You will be micromanaged to death, whether you have three weeks of experience or 20 years. Policies are vague. Communication with leadership is poor. You can be a strong, experienced performer and have very few classes, or brand new and get 8 a week. There appears to be no logic or strategy to anything that happens.
