Misogyny Central - Facilities Crew Worker Life Time Employee Review

Pros

You get a free membership to Lifetime while employed, which is nice as they are usually quite expensive if you work at a higher ranked club. You also get a small discount on most services.

Cons

This was one of the most misogynistic companies I have EVER encountered- all the way up to the highest level of management. In fact, I would argue that that is where it is worst. Many of the men workers had been accused of sexually harassing female workers (which I myself had witnessed) and that would usually result in letting go of the female employee and replacing her. It was made clear that we had no power. I worked facilities and Lifetime is like some sort of caste system. Facility workers were treated like garbage- trainers would intentionally leave messes, boss you around, and and speak to you condescendingly. Overall I had a terrible experience. I showed up early, worked the hardest, was promised raises, and they never delivered or rewarded workers. The good employees were exploited for their generosity of taking extra shifts, doing extra work, and the dead-beat employees were simply ignored instead of being disciplined. If you are a woman, I can't with good conscience advise you to work facilities.

Pros

Great healthy way of life promoted to employees as part of goals and balance of work with life. Flexible time off with mixture of paid time off.

Cons

Does not recognize federal holidays - not a bank - so use personal celebration days to take time off when requested.

Pros

Members are great and free membership is a perk. Coworkers are supportive.

Cons

You will be micromanaged to death, whether you have three weeks of experience or 20 years. Policies are vague. Communication with leadership is poor. You can be a strong, experienced performer and have very few classes, or brand new and get 8 a week. There appears to be no logic or strategy to anything that happens.
