Pros

Lindamood-Bell values mentoring and ensuring all Star Cast members feel supported. There are plenty of opportunities to grow and add new skillsets. The work is extremely rewarding as you witness firsthand the incredible growth students make from start to finish during their intervention periods. Everyone I've interacted with cares deeply about the company mission and values. I have become a better person doing this job, with more compassion and understanding for the education system, including staff, parent and student difficulties.

Cons

I docked off one star due to the low pay (considering the amount of hard work we do as well as higher compensation in similar industries among other companies). This is a job that will at times exhaust, but if you enjoy being challenged personally and professionally, there will be endless opportunities!

Pros

It’s great to try to help people, but…

Cons

They’re so set on their particular philosophical style, but realistically, it cannot be one size fits all. Clinicians who work there are NOT experts; they only get two weeks of training. And the sessions are extremely tight, with back-to-back students (just five minutes between each, leaving no time to prepare for the next one and no chance for clinicians to catch a breath). Lessons take place in cramped, mostly shared spaces, so everyone tends to be over-stressed. There’s no way that what is taught there, and the environment in which it’s taught, is worth what they’re charging families. Not to mention that the staff break room is like the size of a closet, and even in that tight space, many people just aren’t very friendly and hardly acknowledge your presence.
