Pros
Great pay, good benefits, union job, strong job security, you work 14 out of every 28 days, so half the year.
Cons
Schedule can be demanding, it’s a modified DuPont, so, rotating 12 hour shifts. Lots of time off, but, when OT ramps up, you might be living at work for a few weeks.
Oil refineries are dangerous places to be. Everything you work with can kill you if you’re not being careful, and the company absolutely prioritizes profits and throughput. They want YOU to be safe, but they aren’t afraid to cut a corner or turn a blind eye if it means the refinery doesn’t have to shut down.
