Pros

Perhaps flexibility for salaried posititons.

Cons

-Their upper management engaged in some very manipulative and scheming strategies to make job offers. They let some people wait unnecessarily in excruciating uncertainty. No job description or schedule or anything was provided at the time of the offer and to add to that they gave you a 24 hour time window to make a decision eventhough they did provide you with the important variables needed to consider any job offer. -Interviews were not really interviews, more of a way for them to learn how the event program that they were taking over worked. -They were not consistent with what they were telling everyone especiallly in terms of stipulations for one of their "bonus" structured "hybrid" opportunities. Participation in this hybrid also meant nothing in terms of growth, it was just a means to support their program transition and pay A LOT LESS for the work. -Finally (after WEEKS) they made offers to people they had originally rejected. -Their compensation is comparable to any entry level job in the SF bay area , not competitive at all. -Their motto or "philosphy" is "First take good care of each other" or something to that effect. Something which they do not embody nor apply to their hiring or program strategies. It feels like it's just something nice that they like to say but that's as far as it goes. I believe things like these trickle down from CEO down to the lowest positions so Maritz may have some work to do. -They are so proud of the fact that they have people that have been with Maritz for 20+years (which is great) but that is where most of their focus was vs where they can take young talent and what growth means with Maritz.

Pros

GM client was great to work with. Many peers were good to work with. Company overall touts good values and 'family' atmosphere. I would recommend the company, but not the leader of this project.

Cons

VP/Director of the automotive division had her favorites, was ill-informed about the most basic HR issues. Needed management training badly, I doubt she had any. Many members of the management team in the later years were 'yes' people...the director didn't really listen to their input. They were figureheads with no real authority. Speaking poorly of her boss in public situations was very unprofessional, and was not a good look for her.
