Pros

Global opportunities, privately held, pets in the office, flexible schedules and tremendous learning opportunities.

Cons

Leadership is unapproachable, unavailable and often unpredictable. Ego driven management team leads with a "what's-in-it-for-me/mine" mindset rather than focusing on what's best for the organization. In-fighting hurts growth, innovation and the culture. Tremendous amount of churn and change management is NOT a strength of current leadership. Mutuality is one of the Five Principles that Mars considers the foundation of their business model. Unfortunately, it's a myth as it relates to people and advancement. The wage gap between genders is disheartening.

Pros

I’ve been at Mars (Yorkville site) for about three months as a Quality Systems Senior Specialist, and so far it’s been a great experience. Everyone has been genuinely friendly, welcoming, and willing to help. The culture feels very supportive—people want to see you succeed and are quick to share knowledge and offer guidance. My manager has been amazing and is truly invested in my growth. She’s helped set clear expectations, encouraged development, and provided the tools and support I need to be successful.

Cons

None so far—still new, but my experience has been very positive.
