Pros

Innovative and positive atmosphere. Big emphasis on R&D. Extremely loyal and excited client base , to point of being a MATLAB cult. Successful company, YOY growth since founding. Flexibility and and excellent work life balance. Amazing benefits packages and matching program for 401K. MathWorks invests in its employees for the long term. Tons of internal training opportunities, committed executive leadership team. Cookies on Friday! :)

Cons

Not a lot of upward mobility within Sales. No flexibility in pricing and licensing models. MathWorks has a "my way or the highway" approach to negotiation which will likely cause customers to turn to competitors (they may not otherwise even consider) especially across the millennial workforce. Outdated licensing processes that aren't perceived as cutting edge in software industry.

Pros

The company places a strong emphasis on continuous learning and professional growth, with clear encouragement for employees to develop their skills over time. There are frequent, fun company events that help build connections across teams and contribute to a genuinely friendly and collaborative culture. Overall, the organization takes a very staff-focused approach, prioritizing employee well-being and fostering an environment where people feel supported and valued.

Cons

With a globally distributed workforce, it can sometimes be challenging to coordinate schedules or connect in person with colleagues.

Pros

Strong work-life balance; reasonable hours and low burnout Smart, helpful colleagues and collaborative culture Stable company with solid products (MATLAB/Simulink) Good benefits and campus perks (food, gym, etc.)

Cons

Development pace can feel slow and process-heavy May not be ideal if you’re optimizing for fast career growth, cutting-edge tech, or top-tier compensation.
