Pros

Working at Long Beach Memorial provides an employee with a flexible work environment. Time off is easily approved and consideration is made for most needs concerning leave. The organization recognizes employees for long term service and loyalty and seems to genuinely wish to thank and retain us. Our Clinics and Centers are deservedly nationally recognized. The commitment to the local citizenry is exemplary.

Cons

The facility is running out of space, some work sites are located in windowless bull pens in the basement, with poor lighting, even somewhat disturbing locations (near the morgue) where concern for one's health is warranted. Various parts of the Hospital are constantly under differing levels of construction impeding traffic flow and parking availability. The organization is implementing a new payroll system requiring employees to swipe their badges before and after work and for breaks. This timekeeping program is making many feel as if they work in a nursery.

Pros

I work with some people who truly care about patient care The brand still matters within the regional industry

Cons

- Terrible new leadership who has created a toxic work environment. - Those who haven't been laid off are certainly looking for opportunities elsewhere. - They do not invest in their employees. Old equipment and laptops, deny training opportunities. - They are in a challenging financial situation and that is felt everywhere. - Massive layoffs means every team is understaffed and overworked. HR is a shell of its former self.
