Pros
The discount is helpful Training is paid Helping customers can be rewarding The hours are flexible It seems to attract social outliers who get along well
Cons
The pay is dismal They pay minimum wage for overtime: 4$/hr base pay, 1.5 percent commission on first item, 2.5% each additional item, 10% on service plans. Overtime hours are all given during nonselling hours, before the store opens or after it closes, whereby they can just multiply the base pay of $4 by 1.5 coming out to $6 an hour. Additionally 8-10 you are paid on commission despite the store not being open. Same goes for 9-10 closing. Management is rude and lacks human decency. It's technically a sales position but expect to do a LOT of merchandising. General sales puts virtually all the product up on shelves and pegs twice a week. Truck is nearly an all day event, for which you will still be paid based on commission. A lot of time is spent doing hourly type work for a commission based wage.
