Pros

There are limited hospitality related discounts and occasional industry perks. Some employees at the property level genuinely care about their work and support one another despite the broader organizational environment. A hybrid work model exists for select corporate roles, though it is inconsistently applied and contingent on subjective performance judgments. Flexibility can be revoked at any time, and I observed it being taken away from others in ways that felt punitive and overly controlling rather than performance driven.

Cons

The organization has experienced a steady decline driven by ineffective leadership and a widening gap between stated values and day-to-day practices. Senior leadership appears increasingly disconnected from modern workplace expectations and relies on favoritism, internal politics, and fear rather than clear strategy or accountability. This has created an unstable environment where capable, long-tenured employees are abruptly pushed out or terminated with little transparency, often under the guise of restructuring or cost management. At the ownership level, leadership dynamics have contributed to this deterioration. There is a visible lack of alignment and engagement, with decisions often driven by ego rather than long-term organizational health. Public criticism of senior staff in front of large groups is not uncommon, creating an atmosphere of embarrassment rather than constructive feedback. This approach undermines trust and discourages open dialogue. These dynamics have enabled certain executives to operate with minimal oversight, reinforcing outdated leadership styles that prioritize loyalty and image over competence, ethics, and sustainable business practices. The result is a culture where challenging decisions or raising concerns is quietly punished rather than encouraged. From an employee standpoint, the people function does not operate as a supportive or neutral resource. Interactions are frequently dismissive and condescending, even when employees raise legitimate or sensitive concerns. Rather than fostering trust, the approach feels transactional and authority-driven. This has led to widespread skepticism and reluctance to engage, particularly among frontline and property-level staff. The company frequently promotes its mission and values externally, yet internally those values are inconsistently applied. When leadership behaviors conflict with those values, concerns are often minimized or ignored. Over time, this disconnect has significantly eroded morale and credibility. The widely advertised “Top Workplace” recognition does not reflect the experience of much of the organization. Participation is limited in scope, and there is unspoken pressure to respond favorably. Prospective employees should view these accolades with caution. Job security is limited for those outside of a small inner circle. Employees who question decisions, even in good faith, may find themselves marginalized regardless of performance or contribution. The culture increasingly resembles an insular group rather than a professional, values-driven organization. This was once a company many were proud to work for. Today, it serves as an example of how quickly culture deteriorates when ego outweighs leadership and power is prioritized over people. Without meaningful change, the long-term outlook is concerning.

Pros

The company has a strong team culture backed by supportive leadership that makes it easy to collaborate and feel valued. There’s a solid work-life balance, which is especially appreciated in a fast-paced environment, and management does a great job of clearly communicating goals and expectations so everyone stays aligned and set up for success.

Cons

As the company continues to grow, some processes are still evolving, which can occasionally require additional clarification or adjustments. However, this also creates opportunities for employees to contribute ideas, improve workflows, and be part of shaping how the organization operates moving forward.
