In my offer letter the notice period was 2 months, but when I put down my paper I had to serve 3 months of Notice period. No buyout option, no Leave adjustments. And your manager will show you his/her worst face as soon as you resign. I agree they had asked me to acknowledge the alteration in notice period last year, but i had not given any acknowledgement or signed anywhere for this change, still they forcefully changed it in the system to 3 months. When I asked my HRBP about this he told me that policy was changed and it will be applicable to all. Now my open question to Mphasis is what is the use of the Offer Letter then which you had provided to me? Is the whole Offer letter is invalid? And as per the contract which I have, that clearly mention that my notice period is for 2 months and no alteration or variations of the terms of this agreement shall be valid unless made in writing and signed by both the parties here to. NOTE: Mphasis can change your notice period for any number of month, they might change it to even 6 months also if they want, and your offer letter will be of no use. Because HR will tell you that its the company policy.
