Pros

NTT DATA Americas has great people with a can do attitude who seek to truly be "global IT innovators" for enterprise IT clients. HQ in Tokyo is making inclusive culture changes, but Americas is still really 6 legacy companies yet to be fully integrated- Keane, Revere Group, Intelligroup, AgileNet, Vertex, and MISI. Client Delivery and Sales Managers are very knowledgeable about business technology trends like cloud, mobile, etc. Support for clients is excellent.

Cons

Legacy issues of 6 separate companies persist since 2011 because senior leaders are great sales guys with zero focus on delivery leadership and operations integration process improvement . External company portrayal is 'high end consultant' but internal behavior is low end IT staffing agency, with a "do as we say, not as we actually do" attitude in front of clients. VPs do not communicate and when visible appear to be empty suits. Internal organization is confused with little team vision, strategy and process execution by leadership. Managers are most concerned with shoveling resumes to stick at account because advancement is through growing NTT team at client site. Employees must 'work harder not smarter' because senior managers talk leading edge talk but are really stuck in 1999 and refuse to actually 'walk the walk' to optimize IT productivity to 2014 level.

Pros

I have worked with NTT DATA as a government IT and project management consultant since 2018, starting with Cognosante before the acquisition. My experience has been very positive. I have had the autonomy to focus on the success of my team and my client, while also having the support of a large, high-performing organization. There are real opportunities for growth, strong training resources, and leaders who genuinely care about employees, clients, and the communities they serve. I have also been promoted during my time here, which reflects the company’s commitment to recognizing and developing talent.

Cons

As with many large organizations, processes and systems and can sometimes take time to navigate, especially during periods of growth or transition. Continued focus on communication and simplifying internal processes would make the employee experience even stronger.
