Pros

Good work-life balance - 4 day working weeks, very laid back Good D&I Good graduate events and opportunities to make friends/maintain contact with other grads Good culture, friendly people who are usually willing to help and answer any questions

Cons

- Lacks innovation, decent place to be if you're not fussed about being challenged in your career, don't really need a full degree to work as an engineer here. Little in house engineering/design work, it's all done externally by contractors. - Lack of work for graduates, will be left bored without much to do - Lack of mentoring or direction given to graduates to navigate large organisation. Positive/negative experiences vary a lot depending on team you're in. - Not much support from graduate line manager or check ups to review progress - Not guaranteed a job at end of graduate scheme, need to look for roles internally and can be looking around for a while. Will be told to be "flexible" and compromise on your desired role if you want to find something quickly. - Jobs given on the basis of who you know rather than your capability
