I have been working at Nordstrom full-time (More than 3 years)

Pros

Great culture, great people, good work/life balance, genuine company that is very large but still strives to feel like a family run business. Nordstrom deserves its ranking as a great place to work.

Cons

Nordstrom is, as it should be, solely focused on multi-channel selling. This reality often hinders the company's competitiveness in corporate areas, particularly those functions that Nordstrom does in-house. It's important to keep in mind this is retail, and their competitive landscape, in regard to employment, is measured against other retailers.

I have been working at Nordstrom full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Promotes from within. Good commission (but you have to work fulltime to get enough money in your paycheck)

    Cons

They won't back you up if customer's did something wrong. For them, customer is always right. People returns wear stuff and if they dont like it anymore, they'll just return whenever and whatever they want. But it really affects their employees. Their rules with returns and commision sales rules isnt fair with the employees. And also when i went on vacation and had enough PTO to cover it. They still deducted the returns I got to my next overall commission. Their shady when it comes to their employees.

    Advice to Management

Corporate needs to change their policies. And appreciate their sales people.
