Pros

Novant has done several things that show me I matter as an employee. The work-life balance is good with no major overtime, no projects with unrealistic deadlines, no understaffing. The environment is productive and laid back. It is patient-centered, provider-centered, and ethical. I feel like the company is growing and that people have a lot of opportunity. I left for a personal reason and would have liked to stay with Novant.

Cons

There is travel within NC, Virginia for my job. One thing that makes it difficult is you meet on physician's schedules, which means before or after practice. If your meeting is at 5pm and you have to drive an hour to get there, you will get home late. You can come in late but it can be difficult to maintain a schedule. Generally, meetings are in Winston or Charlotte, or halfway between. They do reimburse for mileage but plan to put a lot on your car.

Pros

Of all the companies I have worked for Novant has been the best experience. I moved back into leadership after years of having stepped back from leadership due to burnout and frustration. Novant invests more than any company I have seen in both frontline and leader development, with cohesive messaging about priorities. I truly enjoy the teams I work with.

Cons

IT was moved to overseas a few years back. They back-pedaled on this and moved some aspects back to domestic coverage, but overall, I can't see where this improves operational efficiency despite surface level savings.

Pros

I had a great experience as a Research Assistant at Novant Health. The team was welcoming, collaborative, and supportive of learning. I gained valuable experience in clinical research, data collection, patient interactions, and working alongside healthcare professionals. The environment encouraged professional growth, and I appreciated the opportunity to contribute to meaningful research while developing skills that will benefit my future career in healthcare.

Cons

Depending on the project, the workload could fluctuate, and some tasks were repetitive, such as data entry and documentation. However, these responsibilities are a normal part of research and helped reinforce attention to detail.
