Pros

- Excellent Entry-Level Opportunity: A great place to start your career in tech or manufacturing. I learned a lot in my early years. - Supportive Management: My current manager is excellent—supportive, trusting, and fair. Not all experiences are the same, though as I previously had a manager who was overly controlling and micromanaging. - Strong Benefits Package: Health and dental coverage are really good. The yearly bonus is also a nice addition and relatively dependable. Also, they sponsor for half of your schooling to if you decide to return, which I did. You will have a two year agreement to stay after that. - Open Culture at the Top: Leadership is approachable and down-to-earth. The open-door policy is real—you can have casual chats with directors and VPs without going through layers of red tape. - Improving Diversity Awareness: While PACCAR has historically had a strong conservative culture, there’s been noticeable progress in diversity and inclusion awareness in recent years. A major plus under the CIO and staff.

Cons

Declining Flexibility: When I joined, we had 3-day WFH flexibility. These were phased out over time, which made work-life balance more difficult and less competitive. Compensation Issues: I was underpaid compared to my peers for doing similar work. Raises didn’t keep up with market rates, and internal leveling disparities went unaddressed. Layoffs and Uncertainty: The recent rounds of layoffs impacted morale and created an atmosphere of instability. Inconsistent Management Experiences: Team culture and growth can really depend on who you report to. Issues with trust.

Pros

Wonderful internship experience. I truly enjoyed every aspect of the internship, from the people and team culture to the meaningful projects and great location. It was an incredibly positive learning experience, and I would highly recommend working there.

Cons

While the business professional dress code may not be for everyone, I personally didn’t mind it and felt it contributed to the professional environment.

Pros

Not much, if you want a place that's okay with mediocrity, then welcome.

Cons

They blindly follow industry trends not industry standards. We have an initiative to use AI to increase productivity, without a proper plan, without security in mind and lack of general understanding. Consistently understaffed, for example there are teams or parts if teams that have max 4 developer type roles with 36 apps or APIs to support - this has lead to inconsistent code and effort as employees are spread too thin to be able to deliver quality work. Management refuses to take responsibility for issues that arise from being understaffed. Teams are not consistent in what tools and pipelines are used causing even more confusion and delays. Double standards: they don't want to properly promote or give raises to hard workers. Upper management made it clear to direct managers that "meets expectations" was a fine thing to give... To employees doing more than their fair share of work and are doing work outside of their role since they have no one else to do it do to being understaffed.
